The US Tax treaty with Finland has an article (26) in it about exchange of information between the countries. It seems that this has been written under the assumption that the signing contries have some sort of protection of privacy of tax records. It is a template tax agreement and very similar to the one that the US has made with other countries. The reason why I am asking, is because in Finland, where I live, my name, municipality, salary, tax percentage, and capital income are published and sold in newspapers, magazines, the internet, and sold as mobile services, along with everyone else's who lives here, citizen or resident foreigner. Is this breaking the tax treaty that Finland has signed with the US? I ask because I am a US citizen I don't particularly like having my name, salary, etc. sold and published without my permission.
